Shorter messages are recommended, especially when using variables (such as first or last name)
If the final message exceeds LinkedIn’s limit, it will not be sent

Follow-up message templates are used in message sequences after a connection is established.
Sent as LinkedIn direct messages
Maximum length: 1,900 characters
InMail Template
InMail templates are used to contact users outside of your network who have open profiles.
Sent independently of connection requests
Require a subject

InMails allow outreach without consuming connection requests.
